What is family worship?

Family Worship happens on the 5th Sunday of months with 5 Sundays. We have two left in 2026 (August 30th, November 29th).  During Family Worship kids are in the service with their families. We have a nursery for ages up to 3 years old.

Why do we do family worship?

While we believe that kids ministry programs are helpful discipleship tools, our ultimate goal is for our kids to grow up serving alongside saints of every generation. We don’t want them to have an age graded faith but a faith that is shaped by saints from every generation in their local church. One way to do this is to welcome them into our worship services to see and experience the family of God at Ashland worshiping King Jesus.

What should I do on Family Worship Sunday?

If you have kids make sure to coach them about the importance of worship with the whole church family. When you arrive at church, help them get settled in by going to the restroom and picking up our kids resources in the back. After the service, talk to them about all they saw in worship. Answer their questions about why we do what we do. Engage them about the sermon from the day.

What about the distractions?

If you become distracted by the noise in the service, stop and thank God for the blessing of so many kids! Take a moment and pray for the parents you see across the room. God has blessed us with lots of kids. We must steward these blessings well! Would you rather go to a church with no kids?
